Gunston Hall

Gunston Hall is the plantation of Founding Father George Mason.

The estate lies on the river and contains one of the few water level accesses from the West side of the Potomac for miles.

The Sugar Hollow Reservoir supplies drinking water to Crozet and Ablemarle County.

We arrived by boat from the river below.

I’ve wanted to visit the Canyon since I was a child.

Hook a propeller to a V8 engine and strap it to a giant tin pan. Go fast.

We stayed in Titusville and arrived early at Space View park to try for a good seat.

Life on the frontier in 1607 was rough.

In early March we traveled over the mountains into western Virginia to take in the sights at the Highland Maple Festival.

Hollywood is cool and quiet and bears the mark of history everywhere you look.
