The Rotunda and Lawn are the heart of the University. All the major celebrations and commencements take place here. Jefferson designed it and furnished it with books. The top floor under the dome is still used for lectures and has beautiful study nooks.
Living on the Lawn
It is considered a great honor to be nominated to live in one of the rooms on the lawn. I walk along the colonnade often on my way across Grounds. One rainy night after a meeting I caught the twilight sky and artificial lights shining from the wet bricks.
